CBIZ is seeking a Senior Attorney or Partner for a client with multiple locations on Long Island. This role requires a portable book of business and 10+ years of experience in trusts and estates, with a focus on high net worth planning and business succession planning.

The ideal candidate has strong drafting and analytical expertise, and the ability to manage a complex, high-volume caseload while delivering exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and review sophisticated estate plans for high-net-worth clients (estates $20M+), including ILITs, SLATs, GRATs, QPRTs, and other advanced trusts
  • Lead tax planning, asset protection, legacy planning, charitable strategies, and business succession planning
  • Advise clients through planning, strategy, and execution meetings
  • Oversee estate administration, including probate, trust administration, accountings, and estate/gift tax filings
  • Manage and mentor attorneys and support staff while maintaining organized case files
  • Drive business development, client acquisition, and community engagement

Qualifications

  • JD and admission to the New York State Bar (in good standing)
  • 10+ years of experience in trusts & estates, tax, and high-net-worth planning
  • Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
